Retford - St Swithun
St Swithun, Retford, Nottinghamshire, DN22 6PL. The Lady Chapel in the north transept is a war memorial. There are also three Great War memorials in St Swithun's Church; a screen with dedication (no names), a stained glass window commemorating the Sherwood Rangers (no names) and the third is oak boards with the names of 205 of the fallen parishioners of St Swithurns. Inscription: 'Remember ye with thanksgiving and with all honour before God and man, the officers and men of the Nottinghamshire Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry who gave their lives for King and Country in the Great War, 1914 - 1919 to whose memory this window is dedicated'
St Swithun - oak boards
Nine oak boards in the Lady Chapel with the names of 203 men who fell during the Great War. Inscription: 'Whosoever loseth his life for my sake shall find it. The Great War 1914-1918.'
