Stapleford - St Helen's Church

The marble tablet in the memorial chapel was made by Mr E Hawley, monumental mason of Stapleford. It was unveiled on 16 February 1924 by Col. Sir Lancelot Rolleston and dedicated by the Bishop of Southwell. Inscription, 'In honoured memory of the men of Stapleford who fell in the Great War 1914-1918.' The three light stained glass window in the memorial chapel depicts St Michael and the Angel Gabriel and the arms of St Oswald, St Edward and St George. The inscription across the bottom of the three lights reads, 'To the glory of God and in memory of CSM William George Domeo Croix de Guerre, Robin Hood Rifles 1914-1918, killed in action 1918'
