Greasley - St Mary's Church - World War Two

Three-light window, with associated wooden board. The board has an incised cross at top-centre. The window's three lights have the following depictions: (Left light) St George holding a banner and shield, with a sheathed sword and wreath of Honour below, and the British Army crest in tracery light; (Centre light) Christ offering his blessing, above two angels holding a crown, symbolic of Heavenly reward. Below is St Michael conquering evil in the form of a dragon. The tracery light contains the Royal Air Force crest. (Right light) St Nicholas with pastoral staff gainst a backdrop of sea and ship, beneath which is an anchor. The tracery light contains the Royal Navy crest. In the Chancel is a wooden board bearing the Memorial to the Second World War, in light oak and separated into the three services and bearing twenty six names.
