101 Sqdn were specially equipped with radio jamming equipment. They had a German speaking operative who would break radio silence to jam German fighter controller's broadcasts and sometimes spreading disinformation to cause distraction. However by breaking radio silence they were highly vulnerable to being tracked and attack and as a result the squadron had the highest casualty rate of any RAF squadron.
One of hie fellow crew members was Ernest Akos Frederick De Bartok an Hungarian/Canadian who had only married on the 4th of September 1942.
