Victor Waterhouse was the son of Stanley and Clara Waterhouse and the brother of Albert, Marjorie, Lilian, Barbara and Dorothy Waterhouse. In 1921, they lived on Eccles Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire.
In 1939, Victor Waterhouse was living at 11, Baker Road, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire with relatives Jack and Hannah BL Waterhouse and two of their children Jack and Kathleen Waterhouse.
Victor Waterhouse and Kathleen Monica Raison were married in Northumberland in 1942. They were to have two children - Victor and Pauline. Kathleen later lived at Whitley Bay, Northumberland.

Waterhouse was an air gunner aboard Lancaster III ND384 which took off 0023 1 Jan 1944 from Warboys, Huntingdon. Homebound cit rashed at Grandrieu (Hainaut) a village close to the French/Belgian border 7 km SW of Beaumont (rafcommands). There were no survivors. Fatalities: Waterhouse + P/O Gerald Peter Robert Bond (P), P/O Allan Morassi (N), P/O Charles Edward Blanchette (FE), F/S George Barry (WO), F/O Alan Richard Bolsover (AG) & F/S Ronald Underwood (AG).
Lancaster III ND 384 was one of 4 (out of 18) 156 Sqdn aircraft lost attacking Berlin overnight 1st/2nd January 1944. 428 Lancasters set out to bomb the German capital and 28 (6.7%) failed to return. 21 houses and one industrial building were destroyed and 79 civilians killed. According to Middlebrook and Everitt, Bomber Command War Diaries p. 463, the raid was not a spectacular success with 'A large number of bombs fell in the Grunewald, an extensive wooded area in the south west of Berlin.'
It is not known for how long Victor Waterhouse had lived within the Greasley parish at 11, Baker Road, Eastwood.
