West Bridgford - St Giles church World War Two Book of Remembrance

On the east wall of the St George chapel is a stained glass window commemorating the fallen of the Second World War, which was installed after fund raising by the West Bridgford Branch of the British Legion. The dedication service was held on Sunday 5th February 1950.
The inscription at the bottom of the window reads, 'They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. A.D 1939-1945.'

A Roll of Honour is in a cabinet by the west wall of the church. The first leaf of the book is inscribed, 'West Bridgford Branch of British Legion 1939-1945' and the second, 'They shall not grow old as we are left grow old. Age shall not weary them , nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. Name rank and service of citizens of West Bridgford who fell in the 1939-1945 war'. The dedication is followed by the list of names.
