Charles Bougin was educated at Trent Bridge School. He was well known in local hockey circles and was business manager for the Little Theatre Players. He was a hosiery estimating clerk in 1939.

He was the son of William Charles and Florence E Bougin of 94, Pierrepont Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham. He was the husband of Hilda Mary Bougin, of 15, Orston Drive, Wollaton Park, Nottinghamshire

Military history

Wireless Operator JMC Bougin was killed aboard 21 Sqdn Blenheim R2784 which took off from Watton, Norfolk on 14/4/1941 at 15.14 to attack a power station. It crashed at Leiden, Holland through enemy action although the precise cause of loss has never been established. Also killed were the pilot Sergeant E Newhouse and Observer Sergeant VA Cobb.
