Brian Szowkomud notes 'This has special meaning for me as I attended this church when I was a young boy. George Marshall's sister Winnie used to take me to the Sunday school as we lived five doors away. I remember seeing a photo of her brother in the kitchen of her house, a brown sepia photo of a young man in uniform. I have visited his grave many times just outside Ypres.'
