Misterton - Methodist Chapel

Misterton Methodist Chapel, High Street, Misterton DN10 4BU. The memorial consists of a white marble tablet mounted on a black stone pattress, incised inscription in black lettering and 19 names of fallen members of the congregation. Inscription: 'To the Glory of God and in grateful memory of (names) who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War 1914-1919.' The original memorial, a brass plaque mounted on oak commemorating 18 members of the congregation, was replaced by the marble tablet some time after 1928. A photograph of the original plaque was included in a booklet, 'Misterton Methodism - Past and Present', Mr JJ Hastings, published 1928.
