Austerfield - St Helena
St Helen, Austerfield, Bawtry, South Yorkshire. Although the village is in Yorkshire the ecclesiastical parish was separated from Blyth and combined with Bawtry in 1858. Traditionally, it formed part of the Archdeaconry of Nottingham and now the diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. The bronze memorial on the wall of the south nave commemorates men of both Austerfield and Bawtry: ‘In glorious memory of the men of this parish who gave their lives for liberty and honour in the Great War 1914- 1918' Austerfield Men (listed) Bawtry Men (listed) 'Faithful unto death’
