Arthur Maurice Cooper was born in Bawtry in 1887 ,he was married to Carline May Sargison (born 4th May 1892 ) they were married in 1913 at Portsmouth and they had a son Maurice William Cooper born 17th June 1914 at Bawtry,
He lived on Church Street, Bawtry with his family and he was a postman when war broke out .
His widow was awarded a pension of 15 shillings a week, commencing 11th October 1915.
Following his death his widow re married a man called Prince and went to live at 6, Stanley Rd., Stamshaw, Portsmouth
Private Arthur Maurice Cooper enlisted at Lincoln whilst residing at Barrington, Doncaster he was in the army reserves when war broke out and was recalled to the colours on 5th August 1914 serving with the 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. He was wounded in action near Mons, he was subsequently taken prisoner on 14th September 1914. The infantry record office at Litchfield Station on 14th April 1915 reported that he had died on 22nd January 1915 at Kriegsgefangenen Lazarette,Alexandrinen Strasse 1/12/13 Berlin. He was later buried at Berlin Garns Cemetery .He left a wife and son surviving.
He is buried in Berlin South Western cemetery
