Frank Edward Bailey
He was a house decorator in 1911.
He was a member of the St Nicholas Church Bawtry choir and also a bell ringer. On the news of his death a muffled peal was rung on the church bells. Also an altar service book was donated by his wife to the church (now in Nottinghamshire Archives) with the inscription ' In loving memory of Frank Edward Bailey Northumberland Fusiliers killed in action (sic) April 24th 1917 R.I.P presented by his wife.'

Frank was born in 1889 the eldest son of Frank a house painter and decorator and Emma Bailey. He was the brother of Frances, Arthur, Lilian and Mary Bailey. In 1911 they lived at Scots Lane Bawtry. He married Bertha Rollinson at East Retford in March 1914. They a had a son and lived in Austerfield.
He enlisted at Doncaster in June 1916. After training at Rugeley he first served with the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (33414). He transferred to the Northumberland Fusiliers and was killed stretcher bearing.
