Stapleford 2006 Memorial - World War Two
Stapleford’s World War Two memorial was erected on Derby Road in 2006 through efforts by the Stapleford Combined Services Club and the town council. 16 names were added subsequently on a side panel. The memorial is linked to a local ‘History of the Fallen" initiative: as of early 2026, the town council has been running a project to honour those named on the memorial. This includes producing banner flags for World War II servicemen and women and creating "red plaques" to be installed on the homes where they lived.
