Military history

King Frederick was a cargo ship (5,265 GRT, 1920) torpedoed and sunk in the Arabian Sea (9°29′N 71°45′E) by U-181 ( Kriegsmarine) with the loss of 27 of the 56 people on board. Survivors were rescued by Samshee ( United Kingdom). The wreck was subsequently dispersed by explosives.
