Family History

Percival Thomas Watson Walker was born in 1878 in Scotter and was the son of William a farm labourer and Emma Maria Walker, née Watson of Long Street,Scotter, Gainsborough. His father William was born in 1842 in Kirton in Lindsey and his mother Emma Maria Watson was born in 1853 at Scotter, they were married in 1875 their marriage was recorded in the Gainsborough Registration District, they went on to have three children, Percival Thomas Watson b1878 Scooter, Grace b1881 Redbourne, Lincs, and Ivy b1896 Kirton in Lindsey In the 1911 census his family are living at Long Street, Scooter and are shown as William Watson 68 yrs a farm labourer he is living with his wife Emma 57 yrs and their married daughter Grace Hill 30 yrs and their single daughter Ivy 15 yrs a dress maker Percival married his wife Gertrude Hague in 1907 , their marriage is recorded in the East Retford registration district, they go on to have a daughter Gwendoline b1908 at Upton. In the 1911 census the family are living at Upton and are shown as Percy 31 yrs a domestic groom, he is living with his wife Gertrude 25 yrs and their daughter Gwendoline 3 yrs , also at the address on the night of the census is Amy Elizabeth Hague, 19 yrs a ick nurse she is listed as a visitor.

Military History

Private Percival Thomas Watson Walker enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Southwell, he served with the 779th Coy., Army Service Corps. He died on 23rd October 1918 at Salonica and is buried in Mikra British Cemetery, Kalamaria, Greece.
