To the glory of God and in grateful memory of the men of this parish who gave their lives for King and Country in the Great War (names). RIP.' Rank and unit are given as well as first names and surnames. There is a brass plaque below the memorial which reads: 'The funds for this memorial were raised by Charles F Woodward, Upton Hall, April 1929.' Charles Woodward was the husband of Violet Marjorie Woodward nee Warwick, the sister of Lieutenant John CG Warwick SNH (d. 27 May 1918, SS Leasowe Castle).
