Nottingham (Cinderhill) - Cinderhill Chapelry (now Christ Church)

Memorial is a 10ft 9ins high Celtic cross in Darley stone with tampering shaft set on a square plinth, three-stepped base with inset red granite tablets. The church was built 1855-56 as a chapel of ease in the parish of St Leodegarius, Basford, to serve miners at Babbington Colliery. Chaplains were appointed from 1896 but vicars were not appointed until 1929. All photos courtesy of Peter Gillings.
