Memorial is a 10ft 9ins high Celtic cross in Darley stone with tampering shaft set on a square plinth, three-stepped base with inset red granite tablets. The church was built 1855-56 as a chapel of ease in the parish of St Leodegarius, Basford, to serve miners at Babbington Colliery.
