Awsworth - St Peter's Church
The obelisk, paid for by public subscription, was erected in the churchyard in 1920. It was unveiled by Lt Col Terry, the son of the Rev Michael Terry, a former vicar of St Peter's. The dedication reads, 'Erected by the parishioners of Awsworth in proud grateful and honoured memory of Awsworth men who gave their lives for God, King and Country in the Great War, 191401919. Their name liveth for evermore.' The names have been listed in order of year of death. The names of nine parishioners who died in the Second World War have been added to one of the faces.
