Thomas Gilbert Marriott was born in 1896 at Bulwell, he was the son of Ada Marriott of 33 Ragdale Road, Bulwell she was born in 1876 at Bulwell, she married Thomas Gilbert born 1876 in Sheffield, they were married in 1902 at Nottingham, they went on to have a further son Harold Weston in 1908. In the 1911 census the family are living at 33 Ragdale Road, Bulwell, Thomas 38 yrs is a plant pot maker, he is living with his wife Ada 35 yrs and her two children, Thomas Gilbert Marriott 15 yrs a golf caddie and Harold Weston 3 yrs of age.

Military History

Lance Corporal Gilbert Weston enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Bulwell he served with the 13th battalion The Rifle Brigade, he was killed in action on 12th October 1916 and is buried at Maroc British Cemetery, Grenay, France.
