Family History

Wilfred Warren was born in 1894 at Bulwell, he was the son of Daniel Warren a furnace engine driver and Julia Louisa Warren née Cutter of 42 Repton Road, Bulwell, Nottingham. His father Danel was born in 1872 at Turvey, Bedfordshire, his mother Julia Louisa Cutter was born in 1874 at Kensworth, Hertfordshire, they were married on 5th August 1893 at St John’s Church, Bulwell they went on to have 6 children, sadly 1 died in infancy or early childhood. In the 1911 census the family are living at 42 Repton Road, Bulwell, Daniel 39 yrs is a furnace engine driver, he is living with his wife Julia Louisa 37 yrs and their children Wilfred 17 yrs a trimmer legger, Emma 15 yrs, Cyril 5 yrs, Annie 2 years and Walter 9 months old.

Military History

Private Wilfred Warren enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 16th November 1916, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
