Walter Henry Wadsworth was born in 1889 at Abingdon, Berkshire, he was the son of Ebenezer Halte Wadsworth a printer and Laura Kate Wadsworth née Dorn of 231 Kingsbury Road, Bulwell. His father Ebenezer Halte was born in 1863 at Abingdon, his mother Laura Kate Dorn was born in 1863 also at Abingdon, they were married on 8th September 1883 at Sutton Courtneay, Berkshire, they had 5 children,. Walter Henry Wadsworth married Violet May Winfield (born 9th September 1893) in 1916 at Nottingham, they lived at 46 Clarges Street, Highbury Vale, Bulwell, they had the following children, Gladys Maud born 6th August 1914 and Harriett Bettina born 19th December 1915 she died on 3rd April 1918. Commencing 4th June 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 22 shillings and 11 pence a week which was reduced on 4th April 1918 to 18 shillings and 9 pence a week following the death of their daughter Harriett.

Military History

Private Walter Henry Wadsworth enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 1/5th battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he was killed in action on 14th November 1916 and is buried at Warlencourt British Cemetery, France.
