Harry was born in 1894 in Bulwell and was the eldest son of William Henry a coal miner and Emma Keeble née Derbyshire of 2 Newcastle Terrace Bobbers Mill Nottingham. His father William Henry was born in 1872 at Nottingham , his mother Emma Derbshire was born in 1873 in Lenton , they were married in Nottingham in 1893 and went on to have 7 children 1 of whom (Edwin) was to die in infancy. All their children were born in Bulwell and were :- Harry b1894, Lewis b1896, Herbert b1898, Frank b1901, Ethel Mary b1904 and Annie b1910. In the 1911 census the family are living at 69 Turton Street, Bulwell and are shown as William Henry 39 yrs head of the family a vine rope splicer working at a coal mine, he is living with his wife Emma 38 yrs and their children Harry 17 yrs a telephone maker, Lewis 15 yrs a haulier in a coal mine, Herbert 13 yrs a scholar, Frank 10 yrs a scholar, Ethel Mary 7 yrs and Annie 1 year.
Private Harry Keeble enlisted in Nottingham on 10th September 1914 and was posted to D Company 14th battalion Durham Light Infantry. He gave his age as 20 yrs and 202 days, he gave his occupation as a mechanic and gave his next of kin as his father William H Keeble of 69 Turton Street, Bulwell, Nottingham. He landed in France and joined the British Expeditionary Force on 11th September 1915. He was killed in action on 19th December 1915 and is buried in Potijze Burial ground cemetery grave reference O. 7
