Family History

He seems to have been known as Wallace rather than Jonathan. Jonathan Wallace was the son of Jonathan and Sarah Hancox and the brother of Bertha, Beryl and Charlie Hancox. In 1901 the family lived at 21 Duchess Street, Bulwell, and in 1911 at 8 Moorbridge Cottages, Bestwood, Nottingham. His mother died on 25 November 1944 aged 72 years and his father on 5 April 1950 aged 80 years.

He died from wounds received at Fonquevillers, France, and is buried in Nottingham Northern Cemetery.

A noble life sacrificed. Also Sarah Hancox, mother of the above died Novr. 25th 1944, aged 72 years. Also Jonathan Hancox, husband of the above died 5th April 1950, aged 80 years.'
