Marshall Keith Gilberthorpe was born on 4th September 1884 at Jersey, he was baptised on 4th December 1885 at St Helier, he was the son of Marshall Hough Gilberthorpe an army pensioner and Elizabeth Grace Gross of 24 Gilead Street, Bulwell. His father Marshall Hough Gilberthorpe was born in 1841 at Chesterfield, his mother Elizabeth Grace Gross was born in 1854 at Cornwell, they were married in 1880 at Plympton, Deven, they went o to have 3 children. In the 1911 census the family are living at 24 Gilead Street, Bulwell, Marshall Hough 70 yrs is an arny pensioner, he is living with his wife Elizabeth Grace 57 yrs and their children, Pauline 30 yrs a lace curtain finisher and Marshall Keith 26 yrs a lamp lighter.

Military History

Private Marshall Keith Gilberthorpe enlisted and served with the Grenadier Guards, he died on 5th May 1920 at Nottingham of pneumonia.
