Family History

He was the son of George and Adelaide and the brother of Joseph, Wilfred and George Danby. In 1901 they lived at 43 Northcote Street Bulwell Nottingham. He was the husband of Sarah Jane Danby.

Military History

Private Frank Danby, enlisted at Nottingham and initially served with the service number 26548 in the South Staffordshire Regiment , later transferring to the 9th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment, he died in Persia on 24th October 1918. He is buried in Tehran War Cemetery.

In memoriam published 14th November 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “DANBY. – In loving memory of Frank, the dearly loved husband of Jennie Danby, died in Mesopotamia, October 24th, aged 30 years. Shattered hopes. “DANBY. – In loving memory of Frank, the dearly loved son of George and Adelaide Danby, who died in Mesopotamia October 24th.
