Noah Robinson was born in 1899 at Basford and was the only son of Noah a coal miner and Mary Robinson née Ward of 32 Wilton Terrace Old Basford Nottingham. His father Noah was born in 1877 at Old Basford and his mother Mary Ward was born in 1877 in Radford, they were married in 1898 at Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 32 Wilton Terrace, Wilton Street, Nottingham and are shown as Noah 34 yrs a coal miner, he is living with his wife Mary 34 yrs and their son Noah 11 yrs a scholar.
Private Noah Robinson enlisted on 11th June 1917 at Nottingham, he gave his age as 17 yrs and 313 days, he was a shop assistant and lived at 32 Wilton Terrace, Wilton Street, Nottingham, his next of kin was his father Noah of the same address. He was posted to the reserves the following day. He was mobilised for war on 4th September 1917 and posted to the Training Reserve and was eventually posted to the 19th battalion Durham Light Infantry on 5th December 1917. He embarked from Folkstone on 3rd April 1918 and was killed in action on 19th April 1918. He is buried at Hedauville Communal Cemetery Extension Grave Reference: B 14
