Family History

He was the son of Albert and Eliza Hodgkinson (died 1903 aged 35) and the brother of Albert, Mary Lizzie, Leonard, Tom and Alfred Hodgkinson. In 1901 they lived at 90 Wicklow Street Old Basford Nottingham. In 1911 Albert, his father and Mary Lizzie lived with Albert's maternal grandmother Sarah Ann Toulson at 'Sycamore Cottages' Cinderhill Nottingham. Albert was the husband of Esther (née Clarke) Hodgkinson (later Smith).

Military History

Pte. Albert Hodgkinson, 10th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, formerly 3221 of the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire ) Regiment, was reported killed in action on 7th August 1917. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate.Panel 8
