Family History

Edward was born in Misterton in 1895 the son of Thomas and Emily Robinson (nee Otter).His father worked at the local Morriss' Chemical works as a labourer.He was from a very large family and had 10 siblings, Thomas 1874,Ernest 1879, Maud 1882, Florence 1884, Alice 1886, Annie 1888, Beatrice 1889, Percy 1891, Walter 1894 and Bertha 1899. He married Rose Ada Jenkins who was born at Auckley, Yorkshire in 1886 at Gainsborough in 1913

Military History

Edward enlisted into the Army in January 1916 at East Retford , serving with his regiment the Royal Scots he went to the front In July 1917 and was killed in action the following month on 22/08/1917 aged 23 years. His name is commemorated on the memorial at Tyne Cot cemetery
