Thomas Henry Selby was born in 1897 the son of William an engine driver and Annie Elizabeth Selby née Tilford of 4 Horace Avenue, Stapleford and the brother of May Elizabeth, George Edward, Joseph Frederick, Arthur Richard, Edith and Beatrice Selby. In 1911 the family lived at 18 Horace Avenue Stapleford Nottinghamshire William is an engine driver and Thomas is an errand boy. .

Military History

Driver Thomas Henry Selby enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Stapleford, he was killed in action on 1st October 1918 and is buried at Reservoir Cemetery, Ypres, Belgium.
