Family History

Lawrence William Oldershaw was born in 1889 the son of Isaac a painter and builder and Mary Ann Oldershaw née Saville and the brother of Lily, Edith and Freida Oldershaw of Warren House 2 Edward Road Stapleford Nottinghamshire. Isaac was born in 1859 at Stapleford, Mary Ann Saville was born in 1855 at Thackstead, Essex, married in 1877 their marriage was recorded in the Shardlow registration district.

Military History

Private Lawrence William Oldershaw enlisted at Nottingham, he initially served with the service number 12413 with the Northumberland Fusiliers, he was killed in action on 22nd April 1917 and is buried at Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun, Pas de Calais, France.
