Family History

Arthur Ernest was born in 1876 the son of Messiah and Amy Medhurst. He was married to Harriet Twells in 1904, their marriage was recorded in the Shardlow registration area. In 1911 they lived at 18 Nottingham Road Stapleford Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Arthur Ernest Medhurst served as an air mechanic 3rd class with the Royal Air Force, he was discharged on 26th February 1919 and died on 26th October 1919 (Pension record cards) No CWGC or SDGW records. However the headstone on his grave at Stapleford Cemetery states Medhurst died of gas poisoning in a Nottingham hospital on 26th October 1919. Peter Gillings
