Oscar Arthur Kerry (Junior) was born in 1892, the son of Oscar Arthur (senior) a caretaker and Sarah Kerry née Buckley of 6 Church Lane, Stapleford. Oscar Arthur was born in 1856 at Lopham, Norfolk and Sarah Gollin Buckley was born in 1858 in Stapleford, married in 1882 their marriage was recorded in the Shardlow Registration District, they had the following children, Daisy b1884, Thomas b1885, Oscar Arthur b1892, Lawrence Henry b1897 and Ethel May Kerry b1902. In 1911 the family lived at 6 Church Lane Stapleford Nottinghamshire and were shown as Oscar Arthur a caretaker, he is living with his wife Sarah and their children, Daisy a cotton winder Oscar Arthur a carriage straightener in the lace industry, Lawrence Henry an assistant caretaker, and Ethel May a scholar. .
Private Oscar Arthur Kerry enlisted at Ilkeston. He initially served with the service number 268408 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He was serving with the 7th Battalion Suffolk Regiment when he was killed in action on 27th March 1918. He was buried at Serre Road Cemetery No 2 .
