Family History

John Hadlinton was born in 1889 the son of Hannah Bowman (formerly Hadlinton) and the brother of Benjamin and Lily Hadlinton. In 1901 they lived with Hannah's second husband James at 28 Fountain Street Dudley Worcestershire. He married Hilda Hunt on 29th September 1912 at Stapleford Parish Church, they lived at 12 Frederick Street, Stapleford and had children Neville born December 1915 and Sylvia born and died 1917.

Military History

Private John Hadlinton enlisted on 11th December 1915 at Long Eaton, giving his age as 29 yrs and 7 months, he embarked from Folkstone on 13th January 1917 disembarking the same day at Bologne, he was reported missing in the filed on 1st July 1917, he was later reported as being a prisoner of war, he died on 7th August 1917 and is buried at Point-Du-Jour, Military Cemetery, Athies.
