John William Gunn (junior) was born in 1892 the son of John William Gunn (senior) and Annie Elizabeth Gunn née Calladine of Stapleford. John William was born in 1868 at Ruddington, Annie Elizabeth Calladine was born in 1872 at Langley Mill , married in 1892 their marriage was recorded in the Shardlow Registration District, they went on to have the following children all of whom were born in Stapleford, Kate Ethel May b1894, Thomas b1897, Walter b1899, Ernest b1901, Doris Mabel b1904, Herbert b1906, Harold b1908, Arthur b1908 and Emma Gunn b1910. In 1911 the family are living at Stapleford and are shown as John William a farm labourer , Annie Elizabeth and their children, John William an iron furnace worker, Kate Ethel May a lace hand drawer, Thomas an iron furnace worker, Walter a scholar, Ernest a scholar, Doris Mable a scholar, Herbert, Harold , Arthur and Emma
