Family History

Charles Geeson was born in 1897 and was the son of Charles and Emily Geeson and the brother of Nellie, George, Harold and Emma Geeson. In 1911 they lived at 37 Bessel Lane Stapleford Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Private Charles Emmanuel Gee enlisted on 9th April 1913 at Ilkeston, Derbyshire giving a false age of as 19 yrs and 2 months (he was 16 yrs born in 1897) and was a fitter. He served with the 1/5th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He went to France 1st March 1915 and was killed in action, 8th September 1915, whilst serving in the line near the Ypres/Commines Canal, Belgium. Buried Bedford House Cemetery, Belgium. Enclosure No.3 Row A. Grave 15.
