Family History

He was the son of Charles and Sarah Alice Fletcher and the brother of Anna Maria and Arthur Fletcher. In 1911 they lived at 16 Pinfold Lane Stapleford Nottinghamshire. He was the husband of Louisa Fletcher, of 17 King Edward Street, Sandiacre, Nottingham. Commencing 22nd October 1917 Louisa Fletcher was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military History

Private Percy Fletcher, enlisted at Derby he died of wounds on 14th April 1917 and is buried in Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension.

In memoriam published in the Nottingham Evening Post on 14th April 1919 :- FLETCHER. – In loving remembrance of my dear husband, Pte. Percy Fletcher, died of wounds in France April 14th, 1917. To live in hears of those we love is not to die. – From his loving wife Louie. “FLETCHER. – In loving memory of Pte. Percy Fletcher, Northumberland Fusiliers, who fell in France April 14th, 1917. To-day recalls sad memories. – Not forgotten by his loving brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Flo. “FLETHER. – In ever-loving memory of our dear brother-in-law, Pte. Percy Fletcher, died of wounds in France April 14th, 1917.
