Family History

Charles Henry Green was born in 1891 and was the son of Alfred an agricultural labourer and Harriett Green née Booth of Park Street, Kingscliffe. Alfred Green was born in 1864 at Kingsclifffe, Harriet Booth was born in 1866 at Oakahm, married in 1888 at Oakham, they had 10 children. In 1911 the family were living at Park Street, Kingscliffe , Alfred 47 yrs an agricultural labourer, Harriet 45 yrs, Charles Henry 21 yrs a railway labourer. He married Rachel Brudenell (born 4th June 1892) in 1911 at Oundle, Northamptonshire, they lived at 21 Moorbridge Lane Stapleford and had the following children, Violet Mary born October 1911 and Frederick Henry born October 1914. Commencing 17th April 1916 Rachel Green was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 6 pence a week.

Military History

Rifleman Charles Henry Green enlisted at Nottingham, he was killed in action on 25th September 1915 and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium.
