John Clarence Grainger was the son of Samuel Grainger [Granger] and Mary Ann Banner who married at Nottingham in 1898. Their children included: John Clarence [Granger] (b.1898), Samuel [Granger] (b.1901), Robert [Granger] (b.1903) and Albert Edward [Granger] (b.1905). They lived at: Churchfield Lane, Radford [C.1901]; 31 Prospect Street, Radford [C.1911 & CWGC]. Samuel Grainger who was a coal miner, died at Nottingham, aged 71 in 1948. His wife, Mary Ann, had predeceased him dying at Nottingham, aged 57 in 1933.
