Family History

John William Jackson was born in 1893 at Tibshelf, he was the son of the late Henry a farmer and miller and Harriett Jackson née North of 216 Highbury Vale, Bulwell, his father Henry was born in 1842 at Bulwell, he died in 1898 aged 56 yrs, his mother Harriett was born in 1851 at Waternewtin, Northamptonshire, they were married in 1877 at Derby they went on to have 6 children. In the 1911 census the family are living at 216 Higbury Vale, Bulwell, his widowed mother Harriett 60 yrs is living with her children, Edith Mary 33 yrs an assistant teacher, Charlotte 29 yrs. Vinnie Marshall 21 yrs an assistant teacher and John William 18 yrs a student teacher.

Military History

Lieutenant John William Jackson, served with the 11th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he died on 17th October 1917, aged 25 he is buried at Menin Road South Military Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 2. Row M. Grave 25.
