Albert George Ernest Wilson was born in 1871 at Nottingham and was the son of James Thomas Webster a law clerk and Emma Wilson née Stubbs of 61 Burford Road, Nottingham. His father James Thomas Webster was born in 1844 at Scalford and his mother Emma Stubbs was born in 1845 at Nottingham they were married in 1870 their marriage was recorded in the Nottingham Registration district, they went on to have the following children, Albert George Ernest b1871, Edith Annie Webster b1874, Maud Eleanor 1876, Mary Ethel b1881, and Hilda Raven b1889 all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family lived at 61 Burford Road Nottingham and were shown as James Thomas Webster Wilson 67 yrs a law clerk, he is living with his wife Emma 66 yrs and their children, Albert George Ernest 39 yrs single a solicitor, Edith Annie Webster 37 yrs single no occupation listed, Mary Ethel 30 yrs single, no occupation listed, Hilda Raven 22 yrs single a typist and a book keeper for a cycle manufacturer.
Private Albert George Ernest Wilson enlisted on 25th August 1915 at Armoury House, Finsbury London, he gave his age as 36 yrs and 10 months, (he was born in 1871 so was in fact 43 yrs old) his address as 61 Burford Road, Nottingham, his occupation was that of a solicitor. He was posted to the Honourable Artillery Company. He embarked from Southampton on 1st October 1916 and disembarked at Le Harve, France on 3rd October 1916. He was attached to the 22nd trench mortar battery on 7th October and was killed in action on 3rd May 1917. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on Bay 1 of the Arras Memorial.
