John William Holbrook

John William Holbrook lived at 22 West Street and was born in 1881, at Arnold, the son of John Charles a fish monger and Anne Holbrook née Parkin of 31 James Street, Arnold, Nottingham. His father John Charles was born in 1856 at Arnold, his mother Annie Parkin was born in 1858 at Arnold, they were married in 1878 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district and had the following children, John William b1881, Arthur b1883, Lilly b1890 and Florence b1893 all were born in Arnold. John William married Fanny Rawson (born 1881) in 1906 at Nottingham, they lived at 77 Flewitt Street, and had the following children, Edith b1907, Ethel b1908 and William Henry b1911. In the 1911 Census John William his family are living at 77 Flewitt Street and are shown AS John William Holbrook 29 yrs he is a pork butcher he is living with his wife Fanny 30 yrs and their children, Edith 4 yrs, Ethel 2 yrs and William Henry 1 month old. In the same 1911 census his parents are living at 31 James Street, Arnold and are shown as John 55 yrs a fish monger, he is living with his wife Annie 53 yrs and their children Lilly 21 yrs a blouse maker sewing machinist and Flory 18 yrs a blouse maker sewing machinist. Following his death his widow Fanny was awarded a pension of 29 shillings and 7 pence a week which commenced on 3rd June 1918.
