William Henry Parrott (junior) was born in 1891 at Nottingham and was the son of William Henry Parrott (senior) a levers lace draughtsman and Ellen Kate Parrott née Singleton of 607 Berridge Road West, Nottingham. His father William Henry was born in 1865 at Nottingham, his mother Ellen Kate Singleton was born in 1869 also at Nottingham, they were married in Nottingham in 1886, they went on to have 10 children, sadly 4 were to die in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children all born in Nottingham were, William Henry b1891, Edward b1894, Hilda b1896, Sadie b1898, George b1901 and Mavis b1904. In the 1911 census the family are living at 607 Berridge Road West, Nottingham and are shown as William Henry Parrott 46 yrs a levers lace draughtsman, he is living with his wife Ellen Kate 42 yrs and their children, William Henry 20 yrs a lace warehouse man, Edward 17 yrs a chemist clerk, Hilda 15 yrs a lace blouse hand, Sadie 13 yrs a scholar, George 10 yrs a scholar and Mavis 7 yrs of age. William Henry Parrott (junior) married his wife Eveline Bertha Goodliffe in 1918 at Nottingham, they lived at 75 Gregory Boulevard, Hartley Road, Nottingham. Following his death is widow Eveline was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 26th May 1919, at the time of the pension award she was living at 74 Sherwin Road, Lenton.
Private William Henry Parrott enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 9th battalion Glasgow Highland Light Infantry. He was killed in action on 12th October 1918 and is buried at Montay-Neuvilly Rd Cemetery grave reference 1.C.6
