Family History

Barrington was the son of Henry and Annie D. Mantle. In 1881, they lived at Grove House, Northgate in Lincoln. His father was a schoolmaster. They shared accommodation with Barrington’s grandfather William John, also a school master and his grandmother Emma Jane.

Military History

He enlisted at Stratford, Essex while residing at Ratcliffe, Middlesex andfirst entered a theatre of war in France on 17th November 1915. He is buried in Serre Road Cemetery No 2, Somme France Grave Reference: I C 14
