Retford - King Edward VI Grammar School

This memorial was originally housed in the King Edward VI Grammar School London Road Retford which closed in 2005 . A new school, Retford Oaks Academy (DN22 7NJ), took its place and the memorial was relocated to its premises. The board is headed 'Ex Pulvere Palma' (The rewards of victory arise from out of the dust) and the inscription reads 'IN MEMORY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE KING EDWARD VI GRAMMAR SCHOOL RETFORD WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR'.
