Family History

George Frederick Squires was born in 1886 at Bingham and was the son of Stephen a monumental mason and Susanna Squires, (née Clarke) of Long Acre Bingham. Stephen was born in 1851 in Cropwell Bishop, Susanna Clarke in 1849 at Bingham. Married in 1875, they had seven children, five surviving infancy - Margaret Ann b.1877 Cropwell Bishop, Oliver b.1881 Cropwell Bishop, Stephen Henry b.1885 Bingham, George Frederick b.1886 Bingham and Kate b. 1888 Bingham. In 1911 they lived at Long Acre, Bingham. Margaret was a dress maker, Stephen Harry and elementary school teacher, George a monumental mason and Kate a teacher of music/piano. His mother died on 25 September 1923 aged 75 years.
