He was the son of Thomas and Edith Ceney and the brother of Elizabeth, William Henry, Samuel and Ernest Ceney. In 1911 they lived at Little Manchester Skegby near Mansfield Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Private Thomas George Ceney, served with the 11th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment. He landed in France on 26th August 1915 and was reported to be suffering from shell shock on 22nd February 1916. He was killed in action on 16th October 1917 and is buried in Hooge Crater Cemetery,
