Family History

Son of the late James and Mary Chapman of Aberdeen and husband of Janet Chapman, 62A Julian Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham (CWGC). In 1911 he and Janet (27) had been married for two years and were living at Imperial Villas, Seymour Road, West Bridgford. They had a son, James William, who was one year old. James' gave his occupation as insurance clerk.

Military History

Royal Field Artillery, A Bty, 112th Bde. He enlisted in 1914 (CWGC). He died of wounds and is buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord (grave ref III.D.143). Awarded British War Medal and Victory Medal.
