Arthur West

Arthur West was born in 1889 at Nottingham and was the son of Levi a lace maker and Mary Elizabeth West née Stills of 22 Garfield Road, Radford, Nottingham. His father Levi was born in 1851 at Nottingham and his mother Mary Elizabeth Stills was born in 1856 at Derby, they were married in 1874 at Radford and went on to have the following children, Fred b1874, Frank b1876, Hebert b1878, Edwin b1880, Alfred b1882, Ada b1884, Emma b1886 , Arthur b1889, Lilian b1892, Edith b1894 and Hilda West b1897, all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family lived at 22 Garfield Road Radford Nottingham and were shown as Levi 60 yrs a lace maker, he is living with his wife Mary Elizabeth 55 yrs and their children, Herbert 33 yrs a fitters labourer, Arthur a grinder bobbin carriage, Lilian 19 yrs a button hole maker, Edith 17 yrs a blouse machinist, amd Hilda 14 yrs a cuter out of underwear. Arthur married his wife Sybil Beatrice Tomlinson (born 9th July 1888) in 1912 in Nottingham, they went on to have the following children, Arthur born 14th August 1912, Bernard born 14th November 1913 and Herbert Harold born 5th July 1915 they lived at 3 Landseer Street, Radford, Nottingham. Following his death his widow Sybil was awarded a pension of 29 shilings and 7 pence a week which commenced on 17th February 1919.
