Family History

Ernest Bemrose was born in 1889 and was baptised on 29th April 1889 at St Mary's Church Radcliffe on Trent he was the son of George an agricultural labourer and Emma Bemrose née Larkin and the brother of Clara, Frank, Christopher, Gertrude, Ellen and Sarah Bemrose. In 1901 the family lived at Pinfold Cottage, Cropwell Road, Radcliffe on Trent. Ernest married Annie Smith (born 22nd December 1893 at Burton on Trent ) on 11th April 1914 at the Bingham registry office, they lived at 59 Craven Street, Burton on Trent, they had a daughter Winifred Alice born 3rd July 1914.

Military History

Lance Corporal Ernest Bemrose enlisted on 12th August 1907 at Nottingham, landing in France on 11th November 1914. He was posted missing 20th October 1914 and was presumed dead 1st April 1920
