Elizabeth Alice Hunt was born on 25th October 1884 at Farndon she was the daughter of Gervase a gardener and Martha Hunt née Towle of North Collingham Her father Gervase was born in 1849 and her mother Martha Towle was born in 1851 both were born in Farndon, they were married in 1875 their marriage was recorded in the Newark registration district, they went on to have the following children, Annie b1876 Farndon, Tom b1878 Farndon, Sarah b1880 Farndon, Caroline b1882 Fardon, Elizabeth Alice b1884 Newark, Rebecca b1885 Newark, Gertrude b1888 Newark, Ethel b1888 Newark and Constance b1890 Newark. In the 1911 census Elizabeth Alice has left the family home and is living at the Royal Infirmary Hospital at Sheffield where she is shown as being 26 yrs and a hospital nurse.

Military History

Nurse Elizabeth Alice Hunt served as a Queens Alexandra Royal Naval Nurse at Haslar Military Hospital, she was trained at Sheffield Royal Infirmary where she commenced her training in 1910. In 1917 she transferred to the Royal Sea Bathing hospital at Margate. While working there she developed appendicitis and during an operation to remove her appendix she died. She is buried at All Saints Churchyard, North Collingham.
